Magazine Design, Holiday Card, PR Win 1st Place at NJ Ad Club

PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J.—Nov. 1, 2023—CMA, a full-service communications, marketing and association management firm, announced today that it has won six industry awards for an array of creative designs, publications and public relations from NJ Ad Club.

CMA won first place in magazine design, marketing collateral design and media relations to showcase the company’s depth of in-house talent.

“Our business strategy revolves around helping our clients grow by leveraging our creative, in-house expertise,” said Jeffrey Barnhart, CEO and founder of CMA. “For 36 years, our experienced, marketing communications professionals continue to build winning brands that support our clients’ sales efforts.”

CMA’s award-winning work helps advance clients’ brands in various industries. Consider the most recent examples of industry excellence:

Collateral: Magazine Design

IMARK Now Electrical magazine, which won top honors, featured an eye-catching, streamlined design that elevated the content that offered readers insight on management strategies, tactical insight on logistics, productivity and margins. Double-truck spreads for “10 Ways To Thrive During an Economic Downturn” and “Look Both Ways Before Hiring” created a flow that added to the experience. Use of page-long vertical and horizontal images throughout the book added to the visual aesthetics.

PR: Not For Profit

CMA created a digital newsroom to boost nonprofit Eating for Your Health’s reputation, thought leadership and brand recognition. The campaign, which won first place,

included a customized editorial database of media outlets interested in the nonprofit’s programming. CMA used this media catalog to identify the editors, reporters and influencers who could best amplify Eating for Your Health’s messaging and offerings, resulting in 62 media placements for a total potential reach of 139.63 million unique monthly visitors. Placements included commentary in top-tier news outlets such as Business Insider, Women’s Fitness, Modern Professional Magazine and the New York Post, as well as front-page coverage in The Star-Ledger, News 12 New Jersey and Princeton Packet.

Collateral: Holiday Card

CMA’s first-place holiday card has become its own tradition, winning top honors throughout the industry year after year. The 2022 edition was inspired by the TV series Mad Men, which centered on an advertising agency in the 1960s. To carry off the American-period motif, CMA employees went through their closets before going in front of the camera. The holiday card, “We’re MAD Excited….”, captures the firm’s breadth of services, ideal location between New York City and Philadelphia as well as creative, in-house depth, featuring all CMA employees in the four-panel center spread, as well as their headshots on the back of the cover.

Trade Shows: Exhibit Booth Graphics

CMA designed trade-show booth graphics for award-winning design-and-manufacture lighting company Amerlux and the collection of sister companies that make up the parent company, Delta Electronics. Integrated technologies involving building automation was the theme. “Amerlux Lights Your World. Now, We Connect It.”, read the banner. “More lighting, HVAC, security and efficiency come together. Under one roof, one network, one company.”

Digital Media: Landing Page

CMA developed an award-winning landing page for Amerlux. The page promoted products developed in collaboration with Gensler, a global architecture, design and planning firm. The centerpiece image atop the page brought together a collage of perspectives that capture multiple products in action. Products such as Etch 2×2 recessed, Linea pendant linear, Grüv recessed linear, ActiveCLEAN antimicrobial linear and Hornet HP downlights were promoted to support the overarching theme: “A Design Legacy.” Geofencing display ads targeting specific areas throughout the country drove nearly 11,000 clicks to the landing page during a six-week campaign.

Digital Media: Digital Collateral

CMA developed a digital marketing campaign designed to drive foot traffic to Amerlux’s booth at LightFair, one of the largest conventions in the lighting industry. A landing page, “20 New Amerlux Solutions Waiting for You”, showcased an array of products that were presented at LightFair, as well as Amerlux’s booth number. Five different digital

ads drove pre-conference traffic to the landing page. Building automation was the overarching focus of the ads (i.e. “What Will Next-Generation Lighting Control? How About An Entire Building?”), while the landing page highlighted the specific products that enabled automation.

Overall, CMA has been recognized with more than 409 awards for client work in marketing and communications excellence, which includes another seven industry awards from earlier this year. CMA won five marketing communications awards from Public Relations Society of America New Jersey Chapter (PRSA-NJ). The award-winning firm received the prestigious PRSA-NJ Pyramid for top honors in event marketing, as well as industry awards for website, search-engine optimization, executive communications, media relations and content that involved the firms’ entire Marketing Division. In addition, the full-service communications, marketing and associations firm won two national awards from Association Trends in Washington, D.C. CMA received national acclaim for its exhibitor and sponsorship sales kit for the International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA) and for its monthly newsletter for Federally Employed Women (FEW).

The firm has helped clients in various industries, ranging from financial services, health care, lighting, professional services and associations.
