Integrated Event Marketing Effort Wins Prestigious PRSA-NJ Pyramid

PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J.—Oct. 6, 2023—CMA, a full-service communications, marketing and association management firm, announced today that it has won five marketing communications awards from the Public Relations Society of America New Jersey Chapter (PRSA-NJ).

CMA received the prestigious PRSA-NJ Pyramid for top honors in event marketing when it helped a client promote its new capabilities in building automation controls at LightFair, the lighting sector’s premier trade show. The integrated marketing communications campaign generated more than 4,200 marketing-qualified leads from 121 media placements, promotional emails, a geofencing campaign and retargeting display ads.

“These prestigious industry awards underscore the talent we have throughout our entire marketing division,” said Jeffrey Barnhart, CEO and founder of CMA. “For 36 years, we have built a roster of experienced, in-house professionals who know how to build brand awareness and support sales efforts for growing companies and associations.”

CMA’s award-winning work continues to help many clients in various industries. Consider the most recent examples of industry excellence:

Website & SEO

CFO Consulting Partners’ website underwent a transformational restructuring following a brand redesign by CMA. Featuring new copywriting, extensive research and expert design and programming, the resulting website was visually stunning, highlighting the company’s core strengths and values while significantly increasing its online visibility. The website achieved the No. 1 top spot on a search engine results page (SERP) for “CFO Consulting” and the No. 2 spot for “CFO Consulting Services”—a stark contrast before the redesign, when the client ranked beyond Page 10 for the exact keywords. Organic traffic increased 32% and average time spent on site increased to 1 minute, 56 seconds.

Executive Communications

CMA launched a year-long executive communications campaign for First Bank to increase its assets and help them acquire a significant financial rival by building the profile of CEO Patrick L. Ryan. At its conclusion, the campaign tallied 60 placements with local, regional and national outlets for a potential reach of 555.8 million unique monthly visitors. Also, a dozen interviews with the bank’s top media targets were secured, including FOX Business, Yahoo! Finance and American Banker. Media efforts helped set the stage for reaching the milestone of $2.73 billion in assets and the successful acquisition of Pennsylvania-based Malvern Bank.

Media Relations

After sustaining double-digit losses in membership, sponsorship and revenue in 2020, the Event Service Professionals Association (ESPA) engaged CMA to raise its awareness in the hospitality sector, which had been reeling since the pandemic. As a result, CMA developed a media relations campaign that generated 66 media placements, serving as a catalyst for a 42% increase in membership, an 86% return in pre-pandemic sponsorships dollars and an 80% return of in-person attendance at its annual conference.

Content

As supply chain disruptions plagued the North American architectural lighting sector, CMA developed a timely and valuable thought leadership editorial for Amerlux’s leadership team titled “Five Effective Ways to Beat the Lighting Supply-Chain Challenge.” Appearing in online, print and digital formats, the article became the most-clicked story in 2022 on the LEDs Magazine website (131,427 unique views per month and 55,000 print subscribers). In addition, the editorial held the top spot on the news site’s homepage for six consecutive days. It was featured at the top of the publication’s daily newsletter for six straight issues and in the magazine’s coveted back page column.

Overall, CMA has been recognized with more than 403 awards for client work in marketing and communications excellence. The firm has helped clients in various industries, ranging from financial services, health care, lighting, professional services and associations.
