‘Lighting That Kills COVID’ Campaign Earns PRSA NJ Pyramid
PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J.—October 20, 2022—CMA, a full-service communications, marketing and association management firm, announced today that it has won a Pyramid Award for integrated marketing from renowned industry group Public Relations Society of America New Jersey (PRSA NJ).
CMA’s product-launch campaign helped lighting manufacturer Amerlux promote a groundbreaking antimicrobial lighting technology that continuously disinfects 90% or more of the bacteria and viruses on any surface light can touch, including COVID-19, with people present in the space. The campaign leveraged several of the firm’s in-house services, including PR, digital marketing, SEO, website and webinar services, digital advertising, email marketing and content marketing.
“The prestigious award speaks to our commitment to offer the best client results by investing in in-house talent among many marketing communications disciplines,” said Jeffrey Barnhart, CEO and founder of CMA, who won NJBIZ’s Marketing Icon award in 2021. “For 35 years, we have built a roster of talented professionals who are experts in new technologies that provide an integrated experience with a return for our clients.”
CMA’s award-winning, integrated marketing campaign for Amerlux catered to different audiences (i.e. commercial, educational, hospitality and institutional), which connected the company’s marketing effort with its sales team. The blogs and press release campaigns drove online users to three newly created, high-value web pages: 1) homepage, 2) “Locate Your Sale Rep” page and 3) antimicrobial ActiveClean product page.
CMA also supported an educational webinar, backed by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for continuing education credit. Executives outlined how ActiveCLEAN’s technologies worked, how it differed from UV and why it was safe for continuous usage around people, with an array of case studies in differing environments to underscore its effectiveness.
The integrated marketing campaign yielded 278 media placements, including 14 thought-leadership pieces for a total reach of 264.3 million. The campaign also sent 9,073 individuals to Amerlux’s “Locate Your Sales Rep” webpage and 1,341 visitors to its ActiveClean landing page via an email marketing campaign. Nearly 100 attendees listened to the webinar as part of the lead-generation component.
CMA Wins Media Relations Award
CMA also won honorable mention for media relations on a thought-leadership campaign for First Bank, which is headquartered in Hamilton Township, New Jersey. The campaign positioned the community bank as the proxy voice for how community banks played an instrumental role in helping Main Street America survive decreasing government aid, increasing inflation and deep economic uncertainty following COVID-19. The campaign totaled 72 media placements for a total reach of 82.71 million. As a result, First Bank saw its full-year net income for 2021 balloon to $35.4 million, an increase of $16.0 million, or 82.2%, compared to 2020.
According to NJBIZ’s 2021 Reader Rankings, CMA is the #1 public relations firm and #1 advertising agency in New Jersey. Last year, the firm won two Pyramid Awards in PRSA NJ Pyramids in Executive Communications (First Bank) and Public Affairs (New Jersey State Nurses Association). Both award-winning campaigns were finalists in Best of Show.
CMA also won the “Best in B2B” marketing communications campaign in 2019 from PRSA NJ, and it won “Best in Show” in all PR categories in 2020 from the N.J. Ad Club.
Overall, CMA has been recognized with more than 396 awards for client work in marketing and communications excellence. The firm has helped clients in various industries, ranging from financial services, health care, lighting, professional services and associations.
