Hunterdon County Economic Development Council (EDC)
Website Yields 194% Growth in Organic Traffic for County Initiative
CHALLENGE
The Hunterdon County Economic Development Council (EDC), a major initiative of the Hunterdon County Freeholders, turned to CMA with the goal of attracting more companies to the rural but fast-developing region by improving their digital and online presence with the creation of a brand-new website and a bold messaging makeover.
SOLUTIONS
In addition to promoting the county’s innovation and entrepreneurial strengths, CMA designed the site to provide an assortment of tools and resources to aid business retention and attraction. Such features included:
- A property locator
- Extensive demographic, workforce and industrial data
- Links and guidance for starting and growing a business locally
- Access to key state data and information on programs such as New Jersey business incentives
- A job board
Also, the site included a new look that was decidedly different than the rest of the county’s online presence. The office’s social media presence and overall visuals matched this makeover.
RESULTS
The new website positioned Hunterdon as a hub of innovation and as a prime area for growth in advanced sectors such as technology and life sciences, generating dramatic increases in the following analytics categories quarter over quarter:
- 16% increase in organic traffic (from Q1 2019 to Q1 2020)
- 87% increase in new users (from Q1 2019 to Q1 2020)
