CMA is looking for a Senior Account Manager to lead our Marketing client accounts while also supporting one to two key association clients through strategic association and event management.

About the Role

At CMA, we partner with organizations to strengthen their brands, grow engagement, and amplify their missions. As a Senior Account Manager, you will be the strategic leader for a portfolio of marketing clients, owning client strategy, guiding execution, and managing high-performing internal teams. In addition, you will serve as a key leader for one to two association clients, providing oversight and support across association operations, events, and member engagement.

You’ll act as the primary client relationship owner connecting strategy to action, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring excellence in delivery. This is a highly visible role for someone who enjoys balancing big-picture thinking with hands-on leadership.

What You’ll Do

Client Strategy

  • Serve as the strategic advisor and primary point of contact for a portfolio of marketing and association client accounts
  • Lead client strategy across branding, marketing, communications, and engagement initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for account growth, expanded services, and deeper client partnerships
  • Present strategy, performance, and recommendations to senior client stakeholders and boards

Team Management & Execution

  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams responsible for executing marketing and association initiatives
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with client objectives
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, and high standards of execution across teams

Association & Event Management

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational support for one to two key association clients
  • Oversee association initiatives including governance support, events, member engagement, and communications
  • Support planning and execution of conferences, meetings, and other association events
  • Act as a trusted partner to association leadership, committees, and boards

What You Bring

Key Credentials

  • Director-level experience managing client relationships and leading teams
  • Strong background in marketing strategy, client services, or agency leadership
  • Experience with association management, non-profit management and/or event planning (preferred)
  • Financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and understand client P&Ls
  • Willingness to travel nationally and/or internationally, including occasional nights and weekends
