CMA is looking for an Association Administrative & Marketing Intern to support our association management clients while also assisting with marketing, event, membership, and special project work throughout the summer.
This role is designed for a motivated student or early-career professional who wants hands-on experience in client services, association management, events, marketing, and project coordination.
About the Role
At CMA, we partner with organizations to strengthen their brands, grow engagement, and amplify their missions. As an Association Administrative & Marketing Intern, you will provide support across several association management client accounts, helping our Client Directors, Program Managers, and Event Coordinators keep projects organized, moving, and on schedule.
You’ll assist with administrative and coordination-heavy work tied to membership renewals, webinars, meetings, exams, conference preparation, sponsorship support, website updates, eblasts, reporting, and special marketing projects.
This is a hands-on support role for someone who enjoys staying organized, learning quickly, communicating clearly, and helping a team deliver excellent client service. Attention to detail, follow-through, curiosity, and a willingness to jump in are essential to success.
What You’ll Do
Association Management Support
- Support day-to-day administrative needs for association management clients
- Assist with membership renewal tracking, reporting, and follow-up
- Help maintain member lists, registration lists, project trackers, and status documents
- Support member communications, reminders, and basic inquiry tracking
- Assist with association management systems, databases, and client platforms as needed
- Help organize files, project materials, client documents, and shared resources
- Support Client Directors and Program Managers with recurring administrative tasks
Event, Webinar & Meeting Support
- Assist with webinar preparation, registration tracking, attendee lists, and reminder communications
- Support meeting and event logistics, including materials, checklists, schedules, and follow-up items
- Help compile post-event reports, attendance summaries, and follow-up materials
- Assist with conference, meeting, exam, award, and sponsorship preparation
- Support the Event Coordinator and Program Managers with special event-related projects
Marketing & Communications Support
- Assist with drafting, proofreading, formatting, and scheduling client communications
- Support eblasts, newsletters, website updates, social media content, and marketing materials
- Help organize creative assets, promotional materials, booth materials, and printed items
- Assist with marketing reports, content calendars, campaign tracking, and special projects
- Provide support for branding, digital, and client communication initiatives as needed
Project Coordination
- Help maintain timelines, task lists, trackers, and project status updates
- Follow up on assigned action items and help keep deliverables organized
- Support production coordination, vendor follow-up, and deadline tracking
- Assist with cross-account administrative needs during high-volume summer periods
- Escalate questions, issues, or missing information to the appropriate team member
Key Credentials
- Current college student, recent graduate, or early-career professional
- Interest in marketing, communications, business, nonprofit management, association management, hospitality, public relations, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Comfort working in spreadsheets, shared documents, email, and project trackers
- Willingness to learn new systems and client platforms
- Professionalism when handling client, member, or event-related information
- Prior internship, office, event, student organization, communications, or customer service experience preferred, but not required

CMA operates on a hybrid schedule. This role is expected to be in the office two days per week, for a total of approximately 15 hours per week, between Tuesday and Thursday. CMA’s office is located in East Windsor, New Jersey.
This internship is anticipated to run from the beginning of June through the end of August, with the potential opportunity to extend based on business needs and candidate availability. Compensation will be discussed during the interview process.
