Event Service Professionals Association (ESPA)

Making Hospitality “Hospitable” For All

The Event Service Professionals Association (ESPA) is dedicated to elevating the event and convention services profession and preparing members, through education and networking, for their pivotal role in innovative and successful event execution.

The association engaged CMA to build its brand by improving the perception of its value proposition and support membership growth.

CMA launched a media relations campaign to position ESPA as a thought leader in the event industry by delivering education on ADA-compliant events. Despite being law for three decades, full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is weak in the hospitality industry. This is largely due to a dearth of published information about hosting ADA-compliant events.

ESPA filled the gap by developing its Project Access Toolkit, a free digital resource for event planners and venues alike, to promote disability-friendly events.

CMA leveraged ESPA’s content with targeted media relations campaign to reach meeting planners and other event professionals.

  • Increased membership by six percent
  • Delivered record-breaking attendance to ESPA’s annual conference
  • Landed 13 placements in highly targeted industry publications

  • “I just wanted to thank you for all your efforts for a great Annual Conference for ESPA. It was truly one of the best I have attended in terms of content, logistics, networking, local hosting, etc! There were so many top-level speakers that were engaging with timely content. I thought the leadership track was great and something the organization has needed for a long time. Thanks for all you do to make ESPA so great! How many associations can claim that nearly 2/3 of their membership attends the Annual Conference?!? Great job!”
